Lol, me too. They do say that they will make it so that higher lvls can still play with lowers,. I just don't know how they'll work that out.

Hate to kind of jump in here (not being a member - yet), but they'd almost certainly use the Sidekick/Exemplar system from 'City of Heroes/City of Villains'. Basically, a higher level player can Sidekick a lower level character, so their basic damage, health etc. are raised to the level of the Mentor's. Similarly, a lower level player can Exemplar a higher level one, so their abilities are lowered in a similar way. As far as a Sidekick'd player goes XP wise, they earn the same amount (+1 level, +2 levels etc.) as they would normally. Players lowered gain NO XP, but would still gain drops and remove DP.

Ah, thanks, haven't played that. GW and WoW are my only MMo experiences. What's the level cap in that one?
Sounds like it would work though. Don't kow how everyone would take to it. Especially those that race thru the new content. At least they would still be able to group with those of us that take a slower pace.

City of Heroes/City of Villains has a level cap of 50. It's very unlike Guild Wars, in that it's major fault (and that of nearly other MMO) is that reaching the cap is the goal, not what comes after it.

The following scraps of message fell through a rip in the space-time continuum -
"... centuries later, Mercia, named after her great-great-great grandmother visited the Hall of Monuments.
And there she found the memorial to her family's famous ancestor.....
She read of the great deeds of the past, battles fought, titles won and....
...she thanked the ghost of her great-great-great grandmother not just for the honour she had brought her family but for the benefits bestowed and passed down from generation to generation..."
Quote from Gaile Gray - "....about the Hall of Monuments. While character transfers are not in the offing, there is great benefit for veterans of Guild Wars as they move into Guild Wars 2. These benefits are available through Guild Wars: Eye of the North, and they will play a very meaningful role in your continuation of the Guild Wars experience."
Another quote - "I like the whole idea of building a "family history" for my characters in The Hall of Monuments. With the timespan between Guild Wars: Eye of the North and Guild Wars 2, it's a cool idea to pass things--even names--down "through the family."
Another quote - "So you'll be happy to know that yes, your character name will be reserved for you. If you link a Guild Wars 2 character to a Guild Wars character, the GW2 character will inherit the GW character’s accomplishments, as recorded in your Hall of Monuments. The Hall of Monuments, available through Guild Wars: Eye of the North, will provide access to unique companions, equipment, miniatures, titles, etc. that can’t be obtained any other way in GW2."
This is intriguing stuff and a marvelous idea if something like this is included in GWEN and GW2.

Ok, I was just about to ask what GWEN was but I figured it. *smacks forehead*
I kept thinking of the pre-searing Gwen and wondering what she has to do with anything.

You know, the negativity of many of those who posted on the GW2 thread on GW guru is amazing.
It seems that some people have learned to read but are incapable of absorbing the meaning of what they've read.

Some people don't like change. They can't spiff up GW and sell it as GW2. So changes have to be made. It seems though that they are trying to take the best qualities and combine them with the feedback they have gotten from GW players over the years.
Edit: sp chk

They also won't be switching off the current GW, so people who really want to stick with it, can. It's nice to know that even if we transfer over into the "new world" we'll still be able to play the original. I guess it's a more extreme version of going back to Ascalon . I know I can and will do it, but also will be trying out the new stuff. Anyway, it looks like there is a lot to look forward to in GWEN before anyone has to consider moving to GW2.

I still have the flute, tattered cap & tapestry just in case. Anet really needs to close the loop on Gwen's story arch (well we only see her in prophecies so I guess it really isn't an arch). But it would be nice to know what did happen to her.

For those who don't know, there is a preserved iris flower hidden in Nightfall that you can find

I got it but it didn't register in my brain that was a Gwen item.

Well, you give red iris flowers to Gwen to get the tapestry piece, so it really seems like one to me. Red iris flowers are also only found in pre-searing Ascalon.
