Nice to hear! Then there is no rush for me to pre-order, as 2 new character slots is sufficient for my needs!
Then again, by pre-ordering, I would be able to move my necro from our second acount to our first one (uh, of course I mean here not "moving" but deleting are re-creating), letting me in the long run drop this extra account. But, sigh, too lazy to want to build up a new necro ....

Press Release - August 24, 2006
ArenaNet and NCsoft Announce October 27 as Global Release Date for Guild Wars Nightfall
Box Art Debuted and Premium Items Announced for Collector's Edition
August 24, 2006 (BELLEVUE, WA) — ArenaNet® and NCsoft® today announced that Guild Wars NightfallTM, the next game in the award-winning and critically-acclaimed Guild Wars® franchise, will be available in stores worldwide October 27, 2006. The news was announced today from the Guild Wars FactionsTM World Championship in Leipzig, Germany.
In this third Guild Wars campaign, players must fight to hold back the night as a mad ruler attempts to free an outcast god and bring darkness to the continent of Elona. But players won't fight alone. Guild Wars Nightfall introduces new customizable Heroes who level up, follow player instructions in combat, and use skills and equipment of the player's choosing. These Heroes will follow the player through savage coasts, ancient monuments, and poisonous deserts during an epic story that spans twenty missions and hundreds of quests. And for the ultimate one-on-one challenge, competitive players can choose to enter the new Hero vs. Hero Battles, where they group with a custom team of Heroes and fight against other players from around the world and their customized groups of Heroes.
Guild Wars Nightfall will be available in both Standard and Collector's Editions. The highly-coveted, limited run, Collector's Edition will include the Guild Wars Nightfall game as well as a Making of Guild Wars Nightfall behind-the-scenes DVD, a collector's art book, collectible skill pins, a character mini-standee, a poster-sized map of Elona, the Guild Wars Nightfall soundtrack CD, and more.
Guild Wars, an instant bestseller worldwide upon its release in April 2005, and Guild Wars Factions, the number one game in both North America and Europe earlier this year, are global online roleplaying games. Guild Wars Nightfall continues the tradition of inviting players to immerse themselves in an epic storyline centered in a vibrant fantasy setting. Eager fans can get the Guild Wars Nightfall Prerelease Bonus Pack in stores on September 15, and the Guild Wars Nightfall Standard Edition and Guild Wars Nightfall Collector's Edition on October 27, 2006.

Sweet jumping jimminy's ghost!! ;D Looks like it will be out well in time for the major x-mas shopping time here in the U.S., but I wounder if that means the Mad King will be making an appearance in Elona. I hope so, Halloween was one of the best events they have had so far.

wolfguard.wolfgaming.net/gc2006/Scroll down a bit to a preview. Some interesting pictures, such as this one wolfguard.wolfgaming.net/gc2006/images/GW_TemplatesButton.jpgJust read the last part: ''In case you, dear reader, are a Guild Wars player yourself and want to share your opinion with us concerning Nightfall or this review, please feel free to contact "Noor Yamarchant" (hexe) or "Nandoon Yamarchant" (T.T.H.) from the Wolf Guard [WOLF] guild.'' Didn't we party with them in SF yesterday?

Nice!
My usual luck, of course. That is one of my most intense work weekends this autumn. Evening Friday+ Full-day Saturday + Night to Sunday. Guess I can join a bit on Sunday afternoon at least.

guildwarsguru.com/forum/showthread.php?t=10044494Check out that thread. It has tons of information on Nightfall that is included in the latest edition of PCGamer. It really looks great. I can't wait to see the Realm of Torment. Riding Giant Worms and the Hero system seems like it will be a lot of fun!

Nice find Yozhura! I'm wondering if the armor shots are peeks at the 15k or not. Also it seems that someone at Anet has a fascination with Michael Jackson dances. As it looks like the male Paragon will be at least the third char with some moves in their dance. And do we get a lion as a pet? It would make sense I guess. ;D Looks like next weekend will be a fun one!

Nice video, thanks for the link Yozhura!
It looks like that is about as controlable as henchmen can get, besides possibly specifying a "behaviour pattern" for them to follow.
It will be interesting to see how easy it is to keep track of them all.

I enjoyed the nightfall preview a lot.
I like how they managed to create a new look and feel for every new culture and area in GW. I love this one.
I really need to learn to get the most out of the hero-hench. But it looks promising. I'm afraid it will lead to much more solo play though. Many will want to level their heroes, unlock the right skills and get the proper equipment. The weapon and rune prices will rise big time I guess. Imagine every character is gonna develop up to 8 heroes (or more?).
The amount of quests in the preview was overwhelming, I played a lot and still had 5 quests on my to do list when it ended.
A thing that was overlooked by many I noticed: hunts. You can take Sunspear hunt assignments from scouts at every res shrine. It gives double xp killing a certain creature type (insects, plants, skale etc) and gives 1 promotion point per kill. Once you get to a certain level (depends on area) the scout stops giving the assignment.
Regards,
Gigs
