relaxing while vol takes all the hits This aatxe thought he could hide from SS around the corner eh? Genocide! Just imagine each of those damage numbers coming up roughly twice each second and thats what SS can do to a bunch of dumb smites Tessa's SS Build for UW. For Aatxes i hit arcane echo first then SS on the first target, switch to next target and hit the echoed SS, then it's Suffering, wait a tic for energy and then desecrate. If they're still alive you can sometimes get a third SS in on third target. Basicly the same for grasping darkness. For smites i use Suffering first once ALL of the smites are gathered near your Mesmer tank , this causes the smites to use Smite hex which they only seem to use once, leaving the way clear for you to use arcane echo, SS, switch target, echo SS and then desecrate enchant (desecrate is paticularly nice against smites who often have enchants up ) Blood ritual is there to cast on the mesmer after the fight to get their energy back up faster. And keep an eye out for those dying nightmares, they're nasty for your mesmer. (vol gets me to play "mine sweeper" and aggro any nightmares that might be about )

Nice screenies. Now we do not have to deal with people joining a trapper group, going into the UW, and then when we arrive they say "oh, was I supposed to bring traps?" The mes build I already posted up so just go find that topic It is pretty easy to tank them as a Mes as long as you play it safe and not try to rush it. The graspings are probably the most annoying of all the monsters since they drain energy and distract. Smites are the easiest since they give so much energy. Here are some screenshots of mine This is the Ecto I almost lost. Stupid colds came up right when we finished killing the smites and we had to run. Here is me tanking the Smites while Kaia kills them all I hope we can do more of these runs and try to clear that area with the Terrorwebs and the Forgotten Vale.

NOT MONK....and I can't HEAL.......oh well i'll get there........

Unless a tank has a use down there, I'll have to play my ranger and get him up to par. Maybe then Mr. Farstrider can join you in the UW.

I don't know for sure but i would assume that a warrior could use the monk solo build in uw. He'd probably need gladiator armor but I think it might could work.

well i wouldnt go anywhere with 55 health, surely not with armor as thick as 2 sheets of paper
give me rangers or give me death! (usually is the case )

armor dosn't matter with the 55 build as the idea is that with protective spirit on you can only take 10% of your maximum HP's in damage, thus the reason for getting the health down to 55 so that if you do get hit you only take 5 dmg max

So you don't think a gladiator could manage it then, Kaia? I'd think it would be pretty hard w/ only two regen pips to begin with. Even if I got my max energy +8 w/ glad and +12 or 15 w/ a focus...
Or I could just put the effort in to ascend my Ranger and Monk. Keep a lookout for Dain Farstrider and Brother Baenre. ;p

ya you really need more energy regen than a war or ranger gets to pull it off

Well with the monk 55 builds I've been seeing you either have one or no regen on your eng. So I figured since all you really needed was essence bond and balthazar's spirit for all you eng in the monk build it could work for a w/mo too. They just dont get mending and would have to rely on protective spirit and healing breeze so they dont die. I don't know if all that extra armor a warrior has would help or not.

It could work for a warrior I guess, but if things start to get rough, you can die pretty easily with such little energy. I am not sure if this matters, but the Aatxes inflict both bleeding and Deep Wound. So when I solo them, I actually have 44 Health and zero health regen from Mending. All my regen when fighting them is from Healing breeze. Another thing that may be a problem for a warrior is the graspings. They drain your energy and interrupt. I counter that with Sympathetic Visage which drains their energy and Adren. I am not sure how a W/Mo would deal with them and possibly the smites too. Plus, there are the nightmares. I have an interrupt for their enchant removal. However, if you are interested, here is an UW solo build for Warriors. guildwarsguru.com/forum/showthread.php?t=86797It looks pretty complicated though and I am not sure how good it is. It seems to work for this person though. Last night, Kaia and I soloed the Coldfires. It was a bit rough, but we got through it very well. Energy regen for me was tough and I had to stand in some Maelstroms to speed up my energy regen. It worked nice though so we do not have to avoid them anymore. Too bad the drops have been crap though. I plan on putting Sup Runes on my Saintly Armor once I get my Monk FoW so I can have a solo monk. However, my Mesmer works just fine for now

Thanks for the info Vol. That build does look a little complicated and would be a nice break in the routine, as do the other builds the op has up there. Might have to try one of them one of these days. But I'm with Zalis, I think I'll get my ranger moving faster towards ascension and go that route.

I dunno. I'm likely to try the insane warrior build first. I'm still not used to playing my ranger.
