I've been looking at ways to improve the builds of my various characters and one skill that stands out as being very powerful for defense that I've never used is the Luxon/Kurzick skill 'Save Yourselves'. To make this skill useful it seems I need to get to at least Rank 3, Companion of the Kurzick/Luxons with 400,000+ faction, to make it last 4 seconds. At the moment I'm not even Supporter of the......(100,000 faction).
So, I've looked at ways of 'farming' faction on Wiki but I can't make sense of all the information. Can someone give me some guidance please on what is the most effective way for a very average player to gain faction?

I'm not much of a faction gather either but Dana put out a little guide awhile back that may help you some. It's in the Library section here. Then there is the Alliance Battles. You can get quite a bit from this, but it's not everybody's cup of tea. I don't do that much there either but people like Thal and Zalis can probably help you out with questions about that part of the game better than I can. Hope that helps.

Wow, nice guide! I'll definitely be putting in some time increasing my Luxon faction following Dana's guide.
Lets see, I need about 380,000 faction to get to Rank 3.....at 800 faction points in 20 minutes (I'm assuming the slowest time) that'll be 158 hours of farming, OMG!
I've never tried Alliance Battles, or any other PvP. I somehow don't think it would be my cup of tea.

I have been vanquishing jade sea and noticed that faction gain is pretty nice. So one option is to vanquish Luxon areas (this includes echovald forest that is occupied of Luxons too!) and get the bonus from the priests at shrines. This gives you +3hp regen and +25hp and more inportant 5/10 factions per kill. In HM you get bonuses for each boss depending on how many foes you have killed before. After the 25th kill a boss weights 250+10 factions Using this you can make boss hunts in Silent Surf and Gyala Hatchery. Other possible option is to use this build to farm factions in the Jade Arena. I have never tried it, but think seriously of making a few runs to test it. Good luck and pls share your experience with faction farming as I want to level up my rank too!

Thanks for the advice. I'm not very good at Hard Mode vanquishing, though with my triple-necro sabway setup I'm having more success than previously. I'll give it a try and let you know how I get on. Unfortunately I won't be able to play for at least a week because of being away from home. Can't wait to get back to GW!

If Dana's guide doesn't work out for you (it's complicated), you can try the Jade Arena quest alone coupled with the Priest blessing. That's what I used back when I FFF.

Vanquishing Luxon owned areas is a great way to rack up the points - I figure a full vanquish gets about 4k per run... That's roughly an hour's worth of time. The better part is that you also get the better drops of hard mode and if you actually fully vanquish, then you'll get the money/exp bonus as well.
Alliance battles is probably a bit faster, and depending on your mode can be more fun. My r5 title has come from a roughly even split between AB and PvE work.
Remember that Luxon titles are account based - any of your characters will add to it. This opens a couple other options: - bring some more toons up through the story line - the quests along the way and natural points you get do add up. Not huge points, but a bit less repetitive. - create a PvE char just for AB. There are a couple good cookie cutter builds out there (Degen Ranger, Fire Ele capper, assasin spiker, just to name a few).
Lastly, if you're willing to be patient, there's usually a double points weekend for the luxon every so often. It can really trim down on the "grind" of it all.

Hiya Shanaya
I know my guide is now pretty well out of date but as someone mentioned above, try just the Jade Arena.
Go out of Breaker Hollow, take the Luxon blessing. I think there are maybe 2 or 3 mobs to kill on the way. Take quest, kill convicts, get reward, map back to Breaker Hollow.
If you use Frozen Soil, this will make it much easier and faster as each convict has a rezz. No other special builds or skills needed.
I was finding when i was in a Luxon guild that this method was nearly as quick (time to points ratio) as the Kurzick Melandru's Hope Hero Fast Faction Farm (HFFF) method. You will get more points per run because of the blessing and mobs on the way and the convicts but it takes more time.
I got to rank 4 Ally of the Luxons (actually not far off of r5) using this method.
Remember, that you get a bonus of 10k faction for handing over each 10k of faction = 20k faction points.
Plus at rank 4 Ally of the Luxons/Kurzicks you also qualify for a statue in your Hall of Monuments.
Good luck.
regards Dana

Dana, thanks for that advice. I've been reading up on the subject in various forums and on Wiki and it does seem that the Jade Arena is the way to go. Raising my Luxon rank is my 'next big thing'.
