How funny is it that the latest World of Warcraft expansion is called "Wrath of the Lich King"? In response to the opening of the dark portal, the Lich King Arthas has renewed his attack on Azeroth. With the Scourge at his command and the plague ready to sweep the land, only the mightiest of heroes can hope to oppose this new threat.

How funny is it that the latest World of Warcraft expansion is called "Wrath of the Lich King"? Not very imo, if you ever played Warcraft 3 The Lich King is a character use in the WC story. Arthas is first corrupted by him and later sort of replaces him as far as I remember. So it has nothing at all to do with the GW lich (unless GW took the concept from warcraft).

I wasn't implying they copied it from GW or vice-versa. I just found the similarities amusing. Especially the whole "Lich lord/king will take over the world with an undead army".
Although, there only seem to be a limited number of ways evil attempts to take over the world, so it's bound to coincide with the lore across different games.
