Well, I have decided to get a Tormented Weapon. However, I cannot decide which one to get. I keep on going back and forth between the Tormented Divine Staff and a Tormented Motivation Shield. So, I thought I would ask you all which one I should Get So please post here if you think I should get the Tormented Divine Staff or the Tormented Motivation Shield. Whichever one I get will be for my Monk. The shield wouldn't see as much use as the staff, but I really like the skin. Here are videos of the skins (pictures don't do them justice since they are animated weapons). youtube.com/watch?v=kA-QOO4SQ5Iyoutube.com/watch?v=5IHEHV1F5LIThanks Also, I will be getting this by trading in the gems to the Spirit of Truth. Since this NPC can only be spawned by completing a DoA area, I am hoping to put together a DoA group maybe next weekend. So I hope some will be able to come

I'd say if you play your Paragon much, get the shield. (so you get more swapping use out of it) Otherwise, that's a pretty slick staff. It's the more practical choice. (assuming one can use the word "practical" when referring to the purchase of DoA luxury equipment)

<Homer>Mmmmmm DoA Luxury Equipment..... </Homer> I was going to say the staff is the obvious choice, but then I saw the shield! I'd go for the shield because it's so unique - the staff is nice, but there are a lot of nice staves, and you have that Zodiac one to show off already.

I'm not a fan of the Tormented weapons (I'd get something else with that amount of cash) but since I really don't like the Tormented Staves I'd go for the shield. It's pink and not that rare anymore, but at least it looks better (it would actually be a great looking one if it could be dyed). And Zalis has a point too, but from experience we all know that once you play a character a very long period of time, it's hard to play something else.

No doubt about it: the shield. It is awesome and the staff, well, it is OK and will probably be more used by you, but not as unique as the shield.

I think the shield looks great imo and looks pinky on my screen so that is an even better reason to get it ;D, first time I have seen a tormented weapon

The shield looks neat, but as Zalis said, if you do not play paragon much it might just be a storage filler.

It really depends on your weapon set-up... my main set for Grey is a +5e, +30hp spear and a +30hp shield. It gives you +8 AL always and -2 physical dmg while enchanted (my choice here, you can use other inscription), and it gets my health to 625 hp.
If you don't care for the extra health a melee weapon will give you, you can use a enchanting mod (I have one as well when I go heavy on enchants) or a wand for HCT or HSR (though you can't get +5e always in a wand - it would be +5e^50 - on the other hand, if you care, it's raises you're attack dmg, since you'll meet the wand req).
When I need more energy I switch to the spear and a +12e, +30hp focus; and finally I have an emergency set with a +15e/-1 wand and a +12e, +15e/-1 focus. I never ever use a staff and 80% of the time I'm using a shield, so there you go... if you really like the shield, but you're afraid you won't use it much, get the shield and change your weapon set-up!

The shield looks really great, but it could end up being a little distracting in-battle, no? It looks like a shield that dropped out of a science fiction game and into a fantasy game. IMO
Laters...
