Well, did anyone catch any new drops this past weekend? I personally got frustrated and gave up after about two hours of boss killing and no green drops. So post away, if you got anything. And maybe share your secrets

The two drops that I wanted which were Ssuns' Staff and Scourgewinds Branch just would not drop for me no matter how many times I went. I would kill Scourgewind with just Talon and Sister Tai while I would Smite with my Monk and yet it still wouldn't drop. Ssuns' I had to use five other henchies, but his staff wouldn't drop either. I was really hoping to get his staff for this build I am working on for my Monk to use in The Underworld in the Four Horsemen and Servents of Grenth quests.
Yesterday shortly before I logged off I did get Milthuran's Staff which is a Blood Necro weapon. Also, an alliance member gave me a Death Necro staff called the Woe Spreader which I am very thankful for.

Kenrii's Sorrow - mesmer illusion Nandet's Recurve Bow - ranger cripple and health Kaolin Protection Staff - monk protection Scourgewind's Branch - monk smite
Picked them up from the ground, while running after 5 or 6 alliance peeps on a stampede through Cantha.
You can borrow my Scourgewind's Branch Vol, when we go help Lago on these Moby thingy quests
Edit : Uhhh, I wrote D i c k, not thingy, weird censuring this site

Uh, Gigs, you can't say D i c k, that is the nickname for former President Richard Nixon, and so everyone knows that the word is profane

Kinda like trying to say "My Assassin". It would end up saying "My Disagreein".
Maybe... just say 'doink' and we'll know what you mean?

I got two, when following a couple of Alliance teams around.
Amazing how different people react on drops. Some just enjoyed going around with company and cheered when someone got a nice drop (I'm happy to say the HoHH members I met was in that category). Others seemed to be a tiny bit frustrated over non-exsistent drops (probably after having spent a couple of trips on the task). Some exceptions seemed to take it a bit too serious, and cursed loudly if the drops did not fall or fell for another person.
My drops was a death necro staff which I gave away in the party. Another one was a fastcast mesmer Focus which I gave to Moo (who nicely returned me a green shield for my warrior wannabe). So I got 2 of my total of 6 Cantha green drops this weekend, and I must have killed a couple of hundred canthanian bosses so far. I have to say I was pretty surprised about the drop amount. I also took one dropless henchtrip to see if I was lucky with one of the greens I actually desire a bit. I enjoyed a successful party on the "Titan Source" quest. Finally I was on the Alliance PvP team which after 4 matches actually managed to kill one of the other players!!! That's what I call a great success! So pretty intense considering I worked the whole weekend.

I was trying to get Sskai's Sword, and Arrghashashashsshah's (sp?) shield. I was trying with the healer, protection and guardian hench with Sskai, and some combination I can't remember for the other guy. I was lucky to get a drop period from either after killing them around 10-11 times total. Oh well, I'll just stick with what I got.

I did get some good green drops even though I had very little time to spend playing this weekend. My sister just come in for a weeks visit here. Reefclaw's Refuge was my first drop. I got it on my first try too.... The Scar Eater took me and Stepp about 10 to 15 try's. That's for my monk. Milefaun's Staff for Star's Mes. was too funny. Stepp and I had that faming down pat. We would leave town die then res right next the the boss that had no monk to protect him so that meant he was an EZ kill. If we didn't get it we would just repeat it over and over till we did. Oh, and a green sword for Stepp. In all I had a good weekend.

Is there anyone else out there who, like me, hates the whole concept of Green weapons?
Consider: 1) They take up inventory space. Since the merchants would only give you 35 gold for them, you would never consider selling it to a merchant. So you just hang on to them, all of them, including your four Victo's Mauls, hoping one day to give it away to a friend or to sell it for a few plats or more.
2) You cannot modify them. This I find the biggest drawback of green items. It would be totally more fun if instead of non-modifyable green weapons dropping, the bosses would drop instead really neat and unique mods. It would be much more fun to be able to continually modify weapons as you find better and better mods.
Anyone want a Milar's Pillar? Or a Victo's Maul?

Hehe, true Jane! It is very few greens you actually would consider useful for your self, and to get a drop of those particular few is almost impossible.
But some have funny skins, like the "twigheap", Urzog longbow. It is not many greens I actually use, I mostly use collector ones myself.
The only one in Cantha I wanted was the hammer "Vera". Not for it's stats (and I really do not need a another hammer, hehe), but for it's references to the romantic Science Fiction-Western serie "Firefly" (written by Joss Wedon, the author of "Buffy"). I bought it after weekend, when prices had dropped a bit. It now stands on the shelf next to my other souvenir weapons, the "ogre slaying knife" and the "Shocking Plasma Blade".
Btw, anyone interested in a Kole's Gauntlet?

I didn't spend very much time in-game this weekend but I did get one of the greens I was going after. I got Lian's Lantern offhand after 4 or 5 tries for my poor neglected Ele. I did try for Wing's Axe several times with different combos of henchies but he never relinquished his weapon. Those are the only two green Bosses I have access to as I still haven't moved very far into Cantha at all. So it was a good return for me as I don't really go after greens unless it has a use for me otherwise, like Jane said they just take up what little inventory space I have.

I liked the "mod" idea, Jane.
Another one would be just a "fancy skin and a name" to apply to your existing weapons. Much better than loads of unusable "low grade" greens.

Greens are ok, but usually don't get ones that I think are great. I think that weapons would be cooler if they had slots and you could swap out the parts whenever you wanted. Like the lightsabers in KotoR.

Well they are re-working the salvaging of weapons with Nightfall, aren't they? So then you can choose what to salvage. I thought I read that somewhere. That will definitely be nicer than hoping to get a certain mod and getting stuck with another hunk of iron.

That would be interesting. I usually get 2 lumps of steel everytime I try to salvage a gold weapon. So that would be helpful, at least a little bit anyway.
