For our "ironman" competition, we need to figure out where our group should start up.
Remember the proposed "rules" 1) If you die - you're out 2) No using henchmen or heros (unless explicitly required for a mission in which case they must have empty skill bars) 3) No grouping with anyone but other ironmen competitors 4) No twinking!! (so no usage of Xunlai Storage) 5) No trying to get someone else killed. This is a friendly competition.
The winner is the last one standing (ie alive)
The goal being to see who can progress the furthest in the game and to attempt to do it with other Scouts for smiles.
I'm thinking we can start up 2/2/08

I originally wanted prophecies, but since there are 8 of is, the 4/8 NF party sizes are useful.

I don't want excessive party caps or exploding corpses, so... NF.

My baby mesmer in in nightfall already. 2 february is one of my best friends birthday (and birthday party all night) so I won't be able to join the fun.

Since half the people already voted for nightfall i guess there really isnt any point to keep voting. I guess its better to start there, I don't remember their being any 15 attribute point quests anyway.

Ok, so we'll make it official then. Starting in Nightfall on the 2nd. OF course since the initial couple towns are limit of 4 per group, there's no reason that everyone has to be at the same time for the actual "here we go". I'd suggest folks go ahead and create their new kids and get through the "training" mission. I can't recall if the first mission with Koss is a 2 or 4 person run - if its only 2 (and since you have to bring Koss), go ahead and do that as well. Remember to empty Koss' skillbar before you do however.
Oh, and it may be obvious, but any other scouts not listed in the list on the first post that decide they've changed their minds and want to join the fun - feel free to jump in. Post here or the other thread (or show up whenever we get started).
I'll go create my char and get his name posted soon. (once I finish vanquishing off Elona today with bob!)

Well I started my new nightfall mesmer. The first mission is for up to 4 people, I did it easily with just my mesmer and koss with an empty bar. My new mes is all ready to go.

Well, I managed to free up some storage space and re-started my dervish (she only got to level 10 anyway), so I'm in.
I'm guessing things like "/bonus" weapons are out, just before I start spawning nice scythes and stuff? ;D

Yup - if it doesn't drop to the ground from a monster (or a chest if you decide to invest in a key), then you're out of luck. (so this also exclude Xunlai chests - course that saves you 50g!)
I'd guess that you can share drops with other iron"men" if you so desire.

The problem is that no one has said that they will start a monk to help with healing. What are we going to do about that? Granted, I have a Paragon and I think someone else is as well, but we'll need three for the later missions. In any case, Veritas Numquam Perit is ready for action.

My mesmer is already lvl 5 and I dual classesed her to monk. If thats not good enough though, I guess you will just have to invest in self heals I completely forgot about the /bonus stuff, guess it doesn't matter since its off limits anyway. I'm assuming quests rewards are fair game.

Lvl 3 here. Have done the first mission (with Koss at 0 attributes and no skills) and spoken to at least one "Expert Trainer". Ready to level up to 5 with fellow recruits. ;D

Well, as I'm not at all attached to my dervish, I'll delete her and start a monk ;D
Never liked dervishes anyway...

If you guys want a monk i have no problems starting a new one. The only question is how much time is going to be needed for this, the next week i can give nearly every hour (bless holiday). But after that i will have to cut back a bit.

Guys, I'm sorry but I don't think I will be able to do this IronMan contest. I have no open slots an I'm just not 100% sure how this whole thing works, so if Jonathan wants to take my place or anyone else that would be find with me.... I hope everyone has fun doing this..... Good Luck too!!!!!!!! [glow=pink,5,300]Angel............... [/glow]

FYI, there are no "slots". Don't think that just because we have 8 folks signed up that we can't do more. Remember this is going to be an ongoing event. Since our ironmen characters can only group with other ironmen, its actually a good thing to have more then just 8 signed up. That way we'll be able to form full groups at the random hours when folks are on.
If people will be around for a good number of hours on Saturday, then we'll be able to move the group along very well. However as we all know, folks will get bored, hungry, or otherwise distracted and need to drop off.
Think of this as a chance to remember the first days of GW when no one had lvl 20's to pull up their junior chars and everyone was in the same bucket. So pick up a class you've never played before or would like to play again for the first time.
BTW, we'll address tomes once folks in the group have made it far enough to be doing HM missions!
Also, if you're worried you can't make this weekend - there's nothing to stop you from starting your ironman char later. Of course you would have to bribe the more advanced ironmen to come back and help you out! I would like to limit how late you can come into the game and so I'll add this new "rule":
New ironmen may be created only until the first death of an ironman. At that point, no new chars will be allowed until the last ironman is left standing.

Just a thought, does this mean we can only use items that come from collectors as well. Rather then from armour crafters? and only runes from drops?
Also in response to shareing drops, i guess it might be best to start a new thread to list what we are after and what we have.

I think armour crafters are fine - so long as you only pay with gold and materials you have on that character.

Right, if it drops - you can use it however you see fit.
I'll leave it open to the group to decide if its alright to buy from humans in town (ie players instead of npcs).
