Are we going to be doing any special runs for points this weekend?

Unlikely on this end - I already have my SS, and my LB should be mostly done when I finish my wasteland vanquishing.

We have a Katandrax trip for Saturday 19th. (Ano postponed it for this weekend). But it will be nice to make some LB runs with guildmates. PUG usually make only 1 run and then disband for some unknown reason. Thal, what do you have to vanquish in Desolation? I have 4 remaining there and will need some company for them

After starting GW today I noticed that there will be double SS and LB point weekend so Pale's suggestion is starting to sound VERY tempting! Hope my wife will have no objections:)

Hope my wife will have no objections It didn't take you long to start using that excuse, eh? Some LB/SS does sound like a good idea, especially with the double points. I predict some wurm farming! I'll try to make some time this weekend for the Crusher, and some farming.

The Lady will pop up sunday night - too bad I'm away for the weekend, I'm only at 15k LB now.
Stormy - several possible reasons: wurm farming is a nice intermediate occupation when you have not enough time for a mission - so there's a good chance one or two will drop out anyway. next team quality is often low - people don't know how to handle their wurms or have bad discipline. Hardcore farmers drop out if the run or the outpost delay takes too long (inefficient).
----
how I use my wurm: * weapon determines range of its standard attack - use a staff or bow to be ranged. * use knockdowns efficiently to neutralize enemies and heal yourself! ** don't waste funneling for travel (cooldown) - your first attack when funneling knocks down adjacent foes, so end it with the wurm CC attack that gets healing from kd foes instead. ** use the elite to knockdown key enemies (monks, bosses...) ** call your kd attacks, so team members can exploit the foe for healing ** the smash is an area effect without approach - make sure you're in CC distance first, best within a group of several foes. can be interrupted, some foes move too much for its long cast. * Manage enemies, especially undead - Take down acolytes fast - they resurect. Mesmers (thought leech) start with mass interrupts; only open with your elite when you think you can finish casting. use the elite on distanced foes as soon as it's reloaded, even when figthing melee. * ignore wurms completely - waste of time for a dedicated run.

Towel, when you have one, you'll understand I had gotten so used to hearing objections that now I sort of miss them.

I'll be up for some runs certainly
And a point to add to the nice tips about using wurms effectively that Clarice already made - weapon differences:
* Swords, hammers, and axes inflict 55 damage per hit. * Daggers inflict 40 damage per hit with a chance to double strike. * Scythes inflict 35 damage per hit and can hit two adjacent secondary targets. * Bows inflict 40 damage per hit and have a ranged attack, range varies with bow type. * Spears inflict 55 damage per hit and have a ranged attack. * Wands and staves inflict 40 damage per hit and have a ranged attack.
So it's actually better to equip a spear for ranged attacks (the base damage of the weapon or meeting the requirements do not matter) for extra damage.

Shows how much I do that run. Anyway I would be up for doing any kind of runs when I'm on. ;D

So it's actually better to equip a spear for ranged attacks (the base damage of the weapon or meeting the requirements do not matter) for extra damage. I was trying this out on our run yesterday. I didn't have a spear but I had a longbow and a wand. For wurming, the longbow doesn't make much difference to the wand distance, since you need to get within casting range to use any of the skills yesterday. So I found myself using the want more often anyway because it has the fastest ranged re-fire rate and the projectile moves faster too. I don't use bows enough to weigh that up with all the other bow types though. ;D edit: one day I will not make any typos

I hope you guys managed to max out your SS/LB points. I had hoped to be on Saturday afternoon, but got side tracked with RL issues. I'm still about 20k away from SS Marshal. Oh well, maybe next time.....if there is a next time.

Pfft - I missed most of the fun as well, being away for almost the whole weekend. I opted to do one or two runs a day now to chill out; that way it's less boring too.

Plus... if you're at all into vanquishing, the two titles are pretty much a given.
