It started out as shopping trip for Khorrax, to finally get his well deserved FoW armour, and ended up almost completely clear out the area, with some pretty unusal drops.
The team consisted of 7 Scouts and one Blitzer. Khorrax (W - our wall against nasties), Twisted Sister Noa (Rit - SM (spirit master, :-)), Dana (R - interrupt), Aewith (R - interrupt/damage?), Twisted Sister Kira (R - traps/interrupts), Twisted Sister Joy (Mo - Healer/prot), Althea (Mo - bonder) and me (N - 100% defensive support battery).
We started out about 10 PM and finished off a bit after 4 AM in the morning. Khorrax and Joy had to leave due to the late hour and sleep deprivation about 2/3 to 3/4 throught the trip. First time I have had such a long trip without disconnects!
The team worked very well together and the spirtits really shined down there. It took until the tower of strength quest before we got our first casualty, and that was due to a big crowd of barraging shadow rangers supported by several monks. So we had to turn down some of our defense to be able to outdamage the healing monks.
We did 10 out of the 11 quests, only lacked "the Hunt" (shard wolf quest). The reason we missed that one is rather funny. On our way back to get the reward for the Tower of Strength quest, we had cleared some crowd to get to a chest. Everyone was busy comparing loot, when Dana (our great FoW veteran) "sneaked" away and took the quest from a nearby npc. A shard wolf directly spawned right besides and got killed by the spirits and us almost instantanously. Afterwards we realize that since one wolf already was dead, no one else could take and complete the quest (Dana was probably the person most miserable with this). Hehe, Dana now earns a new title to the collection "Quest Spoiler (1)". We will remind her about this.... Trust me!
Myself, I got 2 new quests "Wailing Lord" and "Griffons" to the collection. After Griffons, we did not bother about going down to the beach to clear the last few crowds and last Shard Wolf there since it started to be pretty early on the morning and only Dana could complete it anyway.
We had incredible drops, 26 shards, 2 sapphires, 9 gold items + 4 (5) gold chests. All members got shards, Dana (7) and Althea (6) took half of them and it took to the very last shard until Kira got her first on the trip. I think at least a few of the chest drops were nice ones. My best was a Chaos Axe, +14 >50%, 19/20 sundering, +20% enchantments, req. 12. Close to perfect, but too high requirement, and the +14 also ruins it a bit. I had the choice to put it on the wall in my storage as souvenir or to salvage. I finally salvaged it and got.....7 wood. Towards the end we started to be pretty sure about a coming rollback. This was a bit too good to be true.
When everyone had left I did a photosafari and could also see that the Scouts are pretty good in picking up rubbish. Only one purple shadow blade, some body parts and Jade Wind Orbs were to find in the whole FoW.
I then spotted the fith, and very last chest....and I had one key left. Guarded by 4 monks, I decided to make a solo sucidal dive for it. Hit "Blood Renewal" and "heal area" and went in, expecting a wand spike followed by dark pact from mayby one shadow beast pop-up. I got 4 shadow beasts poping, right on chest! Body blocking my drop and spiking me to death. I missed a req, 8 illusion wand, probably one of the most remarkable drops I would ever had got, hehe.
Truly an amazing trip!
