Well, our group completed Stygian Veil in the last DoA trip so now it is time for us to conquer a new area. The next area is the City of Torc'qua. Thus far a few have shown interest in coming for this next DoA trip so the group so far is as follows. Party Size: 3/8 Healing Monk - Me Ele Nuker - Terra Hope Tank - Khorrax (I think Khorrax said he would like to come. If I am wrong, please tell me) When: Saturday, February 3rd at 1pm EST, 6pm GMT. Where: Gate of Anguish Intl D1 Just like the previous thread for Stygian Veil, please post here if you wish to come and what you will bring. Right now we need our backliners. Possibly a trapper as well. I also believe we will need a BiP Necro for here. The reason is that this place is going to be vicious with the energy drain. Each time you attack or use a skill you will lose energy. The Margonite Mesmers and Necro's also use Energy denial skills as well. Plus, they will have Famine and Mind Wrack to make matters even worse. So I really think we will need a BiP Necro. Our party set up for Stygian Veil seemed to work very well and I am hoping we can bring that here as well. City of Torc'qua isn't too tough. The hardest part is the beginning since there is nowhere to run if aggro breaks. We'll have to use the same tactics as Stygian Veil with the tank blocking them while the backline kills them. I also believe a trapper would help here as well. Another thing is that the Margonite names may be tough to remember. But you really just need to know that the Margonite Anur Ki's are the monks. Once they are taken out the rest of the Margonites fall pretty quickly. There is only one quest here and that is to clear all the Margonites. But please know that taking the quest reward will spawn Lord Jadoth and a massive mob of Margonites. One group will storm the city as well so make sure you don't take the reward until we are ready Also, Lord Jadoth spawns with two bosses and all three of them drop greens if anyone was wondering. I look forward to conquering Torc'qua City with you all!

Yes, I would like to come and I also have a suggestion: if we could scout the area in advance to know what to expect and to adjust the builds

Thanks for joining And I agree Khorrax that we should try taking a brief visit there this week so that everyone can get an idea of what would be best here. Here is how the party looks thus far. Party Size: 5/8 Healing Monk - Me Ele Nuker - Terra Hope Tank - Khorrax Ranger - Wolf BiP Necro - Lago We need two more backliners/support, plus one Protect Monk.

If Verin and I manage to get past the Gate of Madness, I might be able to bring my Paragon. We've failed at the end two times now. (w/ Shiro even after we rallied all 5 gods)
My Para can spam shouts/echoes and keep his energy up pretty well, though I suspect I'd want to play battery on this outing.

Can't promise I will be around then. Am going to a weekend special guest course in Salsa dancing and am not sure when I will be back home.
If I am home and I log on and your party isn't full, then I can come as Rit, Ranger or Necro.

well my ranger is up for it, maybe my dervish i do plan on completing the campaign with my dervish today or possibly tomorrow at the latest, but i dont think that would work so well... 2 trappers would probably be ideal, if not, i wish you luck wolfie

I now have access to DoA w/ my Paragon. And it looks like Khorrax is filling the tank role, so I don't mind playing support. Paras have a few Chants etc that give energy when a spell is cast or in other circumstances. Sounds like battery skills will be important for this trip.
I'm also available to come as far as I know. If plans change, I'll let you know.

Thanks everyone for the responses It looks like we have a full party here. We did a test run through City of Torc'qua yesterday and it went pretty well. I do believe that we won't need full BiP support so maybe Lago can go SS with Blood Ritual for situations where energy gets low due to a long battle. The hardest part of this place is fighting the first couple of groups. After that it isn't too bad. Just need to take out the Margonite Anur Ki's and then the rest go down quickly. Party Size: 8/8 Healing Monk - Me Ele Nuker - Terra Hope Tank - Khorrax Ranger - Wolf BiP Necro - Lago Ranger - Sabor Monk - Mercia Paragon - Zalis If anyone can't make it please post it here Remember, it is Saturday at 1pm EST, 6pm GMT. It will take a few hours to complete.

Caster support, Attacker support, or Protector... which role would be the most useful for this? Since we're not going to be nuke heavy.
If our ele is fire, I'd definitely help that w/ using a few fire-related support skills. I'm very flexible w/ adjusting my Para build, so anyone who's familiar w/ the area should feel free to tell me what we'll need for proper support.

Well, I am not sure about Paragon skills and what to bring. But after reading the skill list on wiki for a few minutes I am wondering if you could take the elite Angelic Bond with you? It would be great if you could put that on Khorrax before he pulls so he doesn't get spiked to death by those pesky Margonite Ele's. If Mercia could bond (or I can bond if Mercia doesn't want to), then you should not take much damage from Angelic Bond. Do you think that would be a good idea? Also, our Ele will be going fire so if you wish to take those fire support skills that would be good.

Angelic Bond is one of those useful-looking skills that I haven't really tried out yet. But it sounds like a good idea if Khorrax is going to be the one pulling. And now that I think about it, I've gotta go cap that tonight.
If I do bring AB, I'd be using lots of Leadership. I'll just ask a few other folks what they're using and then decide on Command or Motivation. Command is mostly +armor, crit, or support for those w/ low health. Motivation has more battery and +health abilities to take pressure off the monks & casters.
An alternative to AB could be Incoming!. I'd have to time it right, but allies in earshot take 50% less damage for up to 4 seconds. Though I think that's a Command skill, which means I'd be going that route instead of Motivation. I'm sure either build would work, but I've got time to think about it... so it can't hurt to try and make the best possible build. (looks like I could get Incoming! up to 5 secs if I brought 14 Command)
**edit** From the bit of investigating I've done and what's been discussed here, I think I'll go Leadership/Motivation for Fire support and Battery/health purposes.

Check to see if I am around when you head out, if you are in need of one more person due to a no-show. Turns out my weekend plans got cancelled due to illness of the teacher.
But I still may motivate myself to go out anyway. Then again, I might be playing GW.
Otherwise have a good time tonite!
