I know you guys have probably done it a million times already, but the time has come for Pass The Towel to re-take Thunderhead keep from the Stone Summit, and fend off the Mursaat while doing it.
I did this previously in a PUG with Crumbly Biscuits (my necromancer), however it took a few tries to get a group that understood what needed to be done and worked together properly.
So... What do you feel about doing the mission + bonus this evening (European time)? I'll be attempting it anyway but it would be great if some scouts could come along.
This is in preparation for a Fire Island marathon I thought could be a nice Alliance event, but lets get to the Fire Islands first, eh?

I don't mind helping, THK is one of my favorite missions. I might want to do it with my elementalist Kala as water elementalist, just for a change of pace.

I guess I can help you with that one. A real funny mission actually. With my new Ranger Sarah, I got a good PUG on first try last week.
First trick was to join a group that wanted to do bonus (often more experienced players looking for protector title). Second trick was to take over the party and tell them exactly what to do at the end fight, if they wants to do bonus they should appreciate that, which they also did. :-)

Hey np - Just put out the call when you need the group forming. Its one of the better missions, though originally (last October) with my warrior Trudi I completed what was the dreaded Thunderhead at my 38th attempt. Now, I can never understand why it was so hard, with a group who know the mission and know their role, it will be a walk in the park ................... you'll see. ;D

Thanks for the replies Yes I remember it being quite simple and enjoyable when I did it last time. Before that I don't think we made it past the Mesmer boss

I believe Anet decreased the difficulty of this mission at some point.
Originally, if I remember correctly, there was the Monk elephant boss that always entered near the beginning and he was really tough to put down. Now it is random whether this boss appears at this point in the mission or not. Originally, there came at some point a very large wave of enemy, seemingly from all directions, and the boss here was always Perfect Armour, who was deadly considering all the other Jades and Mursaat around as well. Now I think the amount of enemy that arrives at this time is reduced, and it is random whether Perfect Armour is the boss or another one instead.
At any rate, I think I read somewhere that after so much complaining, Anet made the mission easier.
By the way, judging by last night, it doesn't seem like a problem to find Guild/Alliance help for something like this. I wanted to hench my Assassin from Lions over to TOA without running, but the word got out what I was about to do and suddenly there were about 12 alliance members wanting in on a max-6 party! So we formed two parties and off we went.

Yes, when you say that Jane I also recall it as much harder the first couple of times.
Even though I got a very good king camping pug on my 2nd try ( + I had tried to hench it a couple of times first), we really struggled in what seemed like endless swarmes of Mursaat and Jades. I have always thought that was due to my inexperience butwhen I do Thunderkeep today I have it hard to see where this "mass" might have come from.

Don't forget to use the ballista to help kill off the Mursaats and Jades as well as the Giants. You have to time them just right to kill them in groups...... ...I would love to help but I'm having problems with my internet. I keep getting the boot....>;/...well good luck... Angel

Did the same with my rit a couple of days ago. *was looking around for Towel* The pugs really thought, they were the ones that had control...bwa ha ha... ;D *raises hand* I volunteer for a THK party! Groovy!

Well, heh heh, while the monk Pass the Towel was out swimming last night, 8 of us alliance monks took a smiting tour through THK. Was easy, was fun!
Don't worry, Towel, I am sure most of us are willing to do it again!

Warriors can be a bit funny at times. Dunno why it seems to be warriors most of the time though..... Yesterday I tried to get my Sin through one of the Dessert missions, and was added to a party rather quickly at the Dunes of Despair. Not a very communicative group, despite the fact (or maybe because of) at least two maybe three of the party were French and knew each other. The funny thing is that one of the others, a Warrior, kept asking if we were doing the bonus, and insisting on an answer, despite the fact that we were just barely surviving the battles as a group. He was still asking about the bonus when half of us were dead and the only monk was fighting instead of ressing. And someone made the remark "we can make it, only 5 minutes left" - reminds me of the Monty Python scene "oh, its only a flesh wound" heh heh. Now Dunes, that's a bonus that you don't do spur of the moment, it takes some coordination and planning. Suffice to say, my Assassin did not get the mission completed.
