Yay, Finally!
Yesterday we cleared all areas of UW, and did 8 out of 10 quests!!!
Only got the two hardest left, Servants of Grenth (Reaper of the Ice Wastes) and Four Horsemen (Reaper of the Chaos Plains). It took only 5 hours altogether without haste, so we are gradually getting more effective down there. The mesmer galore on the Chaos plane is still challenging, but not as desperate as first times.
The team consisted of 6 Scouts, TS Joy (Mo), TS Lucy (Mo), TS Jane (R, beastmaster), Aewith (R, interrupt + 1 trap), Khorrax (W), me (N, support) and two alliance members, Ishtar Sciurus (E, air) and Kael Thealas (W)). A very good party and there was some amazing teamwork during the trip! Poor Kael got disconnected only 5 minutes before the clearout and the completion of the Restore Monument Quest! But, that was the only disconnect!!
Some tips:
Do "Wrathful Spirits" (Reaper of the Forgotten Vale) before "Escort of Souls" (Reaper of the Labyrinth). In quest "Wrathful Spirits" you only have to have one surviving friendly spirit!! That makes it much easier than we first thought!
In "Unwanted Guests" (Reaper of the Labyrinth)
The Vengeful Aatraxes are not only unharmable but also undebuffable! So weakness and such do not work. Just protect your self and run if you have to get them out of the way! I acted decoy on one occasion and survived. They only seemed to do 130 dmg/ hit so with some good selfheal they are only slightly annoying. When the "keeper of soul" is killed the related Aatraxes might not die instantanously if they are aggroed. Try to disengage and they will drop.
The two quest we did not do "Servants of Grenth" and "Four Horsemen" both seem to need some startegical trapping to lower the difficulty. We tried "4 Horsemen" at last. The two groups approach from each side towards the monument, but there are two nice bottlenecks that are trap/blockable. As battery I can then stand close to the Reaper and reach monks in each group. That quest probably requires a full team and some rehearsal before accepting quest, since things went pretty fast.
The most distant quest "Terrorweb Queen" is bugged. If you have cleared the area completely before taking the quest, no queen appears, you get reward, but no chest or spider. My guess is that she is a humble queen, that mostly lives in cognito as normal Terrorweb Drider.
Drops:
About 10 ectos. 4 gold chests and 2 purple. Aewith either got a very rare skinned purple Dwarven Axe, or the much more common Hammer, from a reward chest ( I confuse those two, I hope for the axe!). My best drop was a crappy eternal bow, with 2 perfect mods 20/20 sundering and +20% Deathbane. I had hoped for the deathbane mod, but got the string instead. My guess is that Deathbane + fitting string would make a very nice FoW barrage Bow ("String of Holy Damage" ). I also got a nice gold Air Wand (9/10 global, req 8) that I gave to our team Ele.
Thanks to all that joined it was a very nice trip!
