Hey everyone. I know I'm new here (only 3 days and counting) but I would like to propose getting together sometime this weekend or Friday even to see how far we can get through Gwen during the preview. I think it would be fun to explore the new area as a group.
Anyway, I plan to start exploring once I get home from work and get some food in me. This will probably be about 7-8PM eastern time (GMT -5). I'd be happy to have a few Scouts along as well. I'll bring the minions ;D
Let me know what you all think or if you have a different time to propose.

I think that sounds like a wonderful idea. Here's what we'll need to figure this out: Which continent do we wish to start from? I know it will be a different quest/content for each continent, so we should decide which continent sounds most appealing to do the starter quest from. Time: I am available as soon as I get home from work on Friday afternoon (around 7pm GMT). I'd like to start as soon as possible after I get home since 4-8 hours of my Saturday will be taken up at work doing a far east firewall install. Perhaps we could do several time frames to ensure that the most members are able to participate. I will suggest rally times for all three days in the different peak times with the starter quests to be done on Friday and moving forward with the new content throughout the weekend. If you haven't had a chance to start yet, then I suggest showing up at one of the rally times because it is likely that there will be other people who haven't had a chance to start yet and also people willing to help you if there are not Friday: Rally time 1: 7 PM GMT Rally time 2: 11PM GMT (I am assuming that most people are day workers here ) Saturday: 10 AM GMT 2 PM GMT 4 PM GMT 6PM GMT 8PM GMT Same for Sunday I know that this seems very organized and scheduled, which most of us hate, but I set it out there as a loose idea. Please add modifications and help flesh this out or totally change it if that's what you feel is right. Christian

That sounds like a good idea. I think I'll be on a soon as Gwen finishes downloading. I think EST is -4 GMT. Although all that time zone crap is confusing.

EDT (summer time) is GMT -4, but EST (normal eastern) is -5. So -4 for now, -5 during the other 5 months or so. GMT doesn't adjust for daylight savings, but everyone shuffles an hour when those change. (ie: UK is GMT +1 right now, but is otherwise GMT 0)
I'm in if I'm around.

I had to swap my weekend planing, so I'll be there only at the end of the event, Sunday night - don't think there will be much time left after the download

Well, Dela, I will, too. Apparently, they grant us access at 12:00 AM PDT on Friday and I will be at work on a Friday morning with nothing to do and no one here to watch me do it three hours later

Hmm ... i'm off for the morning on Friday so will I be able to play the preview on Friday morning 12am GMT? What time exactly does the preview weekend start? Also, I can probably make the latest get togethers for trips through GW:EN ... difficult for me this weekend as my band is recording a new demo

Great idea, Keshawk. Do we call you Keshawk or Zagar? If you want us to call you Zagar you should update your display name in your profile. Which continent do we wish to start from? If they all start in the port towns, Cantha is the best bet if we want to go in big groups because the party size is 8 instead of 4 or 6. Although I would like to start it from either Tyria or Elona. Friday Rally time 1: 7 PM GMT That's 8PM for me, and the event starts at 8AM in the UK, so kind of late for people who can get started from the beginning! The other rally times are a good idea also, although maybe we need some earlier ones. Why not say turn up in the guild hall for a few mins at each time and hope somebody else will show up? You can agree a continent based on the preferences of who shows up.

Call me anything you want, but I won't promise a response if I don't like the name. ;D Great to see the excitement about getting together for this. I've got to remember to kick off a download before I leave for work so I won't have to wait when I get home. Guess I should tell the wife ahead of time to not expect much from me Friday.

LOL, I've already done that. Sue might get on and play some with us for a little while, but won't be on the whole weekend like I will. We've already discussed it and she has stated that she understands and won't bother me except to force me to eat , so I'm good.....I think

If you happen to see me on and want some help, give a yell. My time this coming weekend is limited since I'm going to be attending the various drafts from the 4 fantasy football leagues I'm in. Seems ANet just has it in for anyone that likes fantasy football I guess...
Hmm, but I guess sleep is for the week, and at some point the dog will have to learn to mow the lawn on her own (after she picks up her own poo)... I'm going to be in trouble this weekend, I just know it!

Sounds like a plan! I'll be on just after the event starts and I'll see who else is on then. Living in the same time zone as Anet has its advantages. ;D
