Domain of Anguish TripsI have never done DoA, but I recently decided I want to. Whenever I'm on there are either not enough people, people doing other things, or like today, a group of people already in DoA! So if people are interested in doing semi-regular DoA trips for a bit, and are prepared to put up with a total DoA newbie (me!), reply to this thread and we'll see if we can set some times.

Pass, I have never tried DoA too. So if you find a group that can take one more DoA-newbie give me a shout.

Per usual, I'm up for it if we have people and I'm online.
DoA trips can take a good while though if you intend to finish an area. (only been there once myself)

Umm .. where is DoA? End-game Nightfall, Dante. There's an NPC guarding the closed gate in Chantry of Secrets who won't let you in without having finished Nightfall on that character. Once through, you talk to another NPC who will zone you to the DoA map point. From there, it will always be on your Torment map.

I would like to join in for some DoA outings. Just know that this place is extremely difficult. The monsters here will regularly hit for 200+ damage per attack. Plus, they have a skill that increases their attack as their health goes down. I once got hit by a Stygian Brute for 700 damage. Going into DoA can be tricky and you need a bit of a party setup to stand a chance. The usual setup is... 1 Obsidian Tank 3 Monks (Bonder, Healers Boon and SB/Prot) 3 Searing Flames Ele's with Glyph Sac/MS 1 BiP Necro with Ranger Spirits Symbiosis and EoE. But we have proven that you do not need to follow this completly as we have completed City of Torc'qua and Stygian Veil with Paragons, Rits and Rangers in the group. And I am sure Mesmers could work as well. I even was in a PUG with an SS Necro who used Meteor Shower as well. The reason why only one tank is because more than one just doesn't serve a purpose and actually hinders us. But most people have more than one character through NF now. I can help in showing where to tank and all that stuff. I suggest we make sure that we have atleast a two monk backline and definatly one W/E or D/E tank. Yes, a Dervish can tank here as well Beyond that we just need to make sure we can bring down the enemy Monks with our damage output. Also, you better pick which place you want to go to. City of Torc'qua and Stygian Veil are the "easiest" areas. Foundry is extremely difficult, time consuming and sometimes confusing. Especially if it is the first time for some people. And Ravenheart Gloom is extremely difficult as well because the quests have massive enemy groups we need to take down. Massive as in 40-50 coming at you while you are backed into a corner. City of Torc'qua is all Margonites while Stygian is mostly melee demons and touchers. I can go as a Monk. But if we get too many monks then I can switch to Ele.

I would like to do DoA a few more times. Was monking, mostly bonding or healing, in the groups through City and Veil. If they are planned well and allow for enough time they are fun to do because of the difficulties that will be encountered. So if the time is right count me in Vol. And after getting up to speed again in City and Veil I would love to have a go at the other two in a good team. Would be fun to have a full Guild / Alliance team (almost the same these days) in there like we were in The Deep the other night where we did pretty well even though our team build was far from standard; actually the extra challenges from that added to the satisfaction of succeeding.

I would enjoy semi-regular DoA runs too, if we get them going. I'd prefer to run monk, but I could also SF if theres too many monks. Never done DoA before, so you'd have to put up with my DoA noobishness Runs either at night (7pm+) would be best, or the weekend, although I'm on pacific time so I know this will clash with some people

I'm up for going when I get my pc fixed. I need to get a worth while character to finish the game too though. I'm not sure I would want to take my warrior, but he is the only one who has finished nightfall so far. My rit is getting close though. Wonder if a Rit Lord could effectively replace the protection monk.

Count me into the newbie wanting to go column. ;D Right now I only have my Paragon finished with NF and my war is the only other one even remotely close. I look forward to giving this area a try one of these days.

Ok just remembered. Does anybody have any idea on how much the anti-armor stacking has affected tanking(capped at +25 armor stacked, I think)? I used to run at least 160 AL on my warrior but that isn't possible anymore. So I was just wondering if the 125-140 AL warriors were still getting the tanking done?
Thought it would be kinda important for this area.

Count me in as a "never gone before/very interested" ;D
If you need a necro with ranger skills, i'll try to get those before we go.

With the recent PvE-only skills, my interest in going Paragon is renewed again. Despite the +25 armor stacking cap, the use of Sunspear/Faction skills can keep your team receiving reduced damage (30% or more if you stack skills) and buffed with +100 armor quite often.
So going Paragon in DoA sounds a lot more fun now, whereas before I'd prefer being the tank.

I'm definitly interested, however I've only completed my warrior in Nightfall so far. I do have all the builds for a tank in the four areas. Count me in for a weekend excursion most likely. I probably wouldn't have time to finish an area on the weekdays.

I've been to the Stygian Veil once with my SF Ele. I feel fairly confident playing that role. Lately, though, I have been focusing on my warrior. That is my character of choice. It would take some practice for me to pull off the obsidian tank role, but I do have the necessary skills at least. Also, my war is a Holy Lightbringer, which would help a bit.
So, I'm a little intimidated, being a noob in that area. But of course it's an aspect of the game I wish to be able to complete. I'm not a TS or Vent user, so that instantly eliminates PUGS as an option in my experience.

Now that I have a character through NF, I'm very interested in trying DoA. Isacc can SF and it won't take me very to tweak my build with GoS for Meteor Shower. Or I can try a Mesmer build if anyone is interested in that. Christian

My Paragon is a pretty efficient damage reducer now that the PvE-only skills are out. Plus, my Warrior's only LB5, so Talena's would probably be a better tank anyway.

So.......are we doing this sometime soon? Say tomorrow, if we can get enough people on? It's Independence Day for those of us in America, so I imagine that we'd have a little more activity than we normally do during the American timezones. Tell me what you think. Christian
