I wouldve liked to see Over There on a DVD collection, saw everyone of those ever wednesday night.. was pretty good, didn't just follow the stories of those in combat, but one tha was sent home, hubby and wife of 2 other soldiers, and etc etc ...and had some realistic looking battle scenes, with the exception of the HMMWV rolling up, guy with an M203 opening the door, shooting it, and blowing half of an insurgent away and his legs take another step... other than that, pretty good!

Doesn't Firefly come on the Sci-Fi channel? It used to come on before Stargate SG-1 a few months ago. Not too sure anymore though. This was all I got for Christmas that wasn't clothes: Band of Brothers is awsome Anyway, I got a new graphics card for christmas and the "I, Claudius" DVD set.

Firefly is a tragically cancelled sci-fi series that originally aired (in the wrong episodic order, mind you) on Fox a few years back. For various reasons, none of which worth cutting short such a wonderfully fresh series, it was cancelled mid-season.
So there you have it. A great sci-fi adventure with a fresh setting and memorable characters... and only about fourteen episodes exist. Serenity was the movie made of the series that came out this September. Whether or not we'll have another feature film or resume the series is yet to be seen. I heard rumor that there won't be a series though, from some deal that was made and money was involved. Who knows. Oh well. Enjoy what we've got and hope for more.
And Voli, what card did you get?

Kaia, for more information you can search for "Firefly", or you can check this link for more info..... www.tv.com/firefly/show/7097/summary.htmlAs Zalis mentioned, the TV show has been turned into a movie "Serenity". I did like the show, but some episodes were a bit weird. I don't think "Serenity" did all that well in the movie theatre's so I doubt there will be a follow up.

Hey, I did my part seeing it in theatres and spreading the word. It only did around 10 million though the first weekend. Which isn't a good sign. Movies have done worse and had sequels, but those typically have more money behind them. I think it was on sci-fi this summer because they wanted to drum up support for the upcoming movie.

hmm, dosn't sound to bad from what i can see on that site. A sci-fi from the perspective of renegades/criminals is a nice change.
A shame that as always money comes before entertainment.

And Voli, what card did you get? I got a GeForce 6800 GT OC Graphics Card. Plus, I upgraded my RAM. it works very well for me. My old specs were a GeForce 4400 with 128 RAM. GW ran pretty slowly and it took a very long time to load up the maps. Now I have it on the highest graphics settings and it runs smoothly. There is a lot of mist like in the FoW there is that red mist and the water looks great. Before, water looked like a bunch of blue squares. I can also play another game, Rome: Total War, with 6,000+ soldiers on the battlefield with no slowdown.

Nice. I used to have a 4400 as well, though I don't think I took it into the fissure to see that.

I got this for myself as a late birthday, early Christmas gift. I too did my part when Serenity was in the theaters and was very happy to see Firefly on the Sci-fi channel last summer. I did miss it after they canceled it back in the day.

I have a mind to go out and buy a copy myself. That's saying something for someone my age who's... shall we say... "computer literate." Ahem.

"Computer literate"...rriigghhttt Well if more movies are going to be dependent on video sales I might have to go and do my part as well and buy it from an actual store and not be computer literate like Zalis ;D

Firefly reruns are currently showing on the SciFi channel on Fridays at 7:00 PM EST. This Friday's Episode is "Objects in Space" and was one of my favorite episodes. Also we get a new episode of Battlestar Galactica at 10:00 PM EST. Needless to say I will not be farming Gargoyle Skulls this Friday night! ;D

Looks like I'll be on Verin's couch this Friday night. Though I won't watch the FF episode. Haven't gotten that far in my own episode watching.
