There is a dungeon in the south of Sacknoth valley, at the back of a little canyon: The Catacombs of Kathandrax. To get there you need to deal with the usual nasties when moving south from Doomlore Shrine and in the final part with all the burning elementalists and djinns.
When you finally enter the dungeon it is not too difficult. In the 3-level dungeon there are mostly fire spikers but they can be discarded with some care.
The End Boss is something else: Ilsundur, Lord of Fire is an extremely nasty Fire Djinn that sits in a rather small area where 2 huge rolling fire boulders are more than just a distraction. The path between them is narrow, heroes and henchies are not very observant of them and frequently like to test the effect of a direct encounter with them.
When you try to convince Ilsundur to move over to another realm he treats you on heavy damage fire spells, like Savannah Heat, Liquid Flame and Glowing Gaze and Fire Attunement for energy management. Two additional skills are particularly menacing:
Shield of Fire: the dealer of the damage to him gets that damage too; does not work on degen attacks.
Fire Bomb: thrown at enemies causing heavy AoE damage when it explodes. He himself will not be hurt by it if you catch it and drop it near him.
So:
I would like to take an ambitious team of Scouts (and friends) to this nasty Djinn to finally convince him to surrender and give us access to that Golden Chest. We will need interrupters and degen mesmer / necros and supporters who have some patience not to rush into the spikers, boulders, bombs or Ilsundur himself.
Proposed Date and Time:
Saturday January 5 7GMT.
Estimated time needed: 2-2,5 hours from Doomlore Shrine.
Any takers?
