Nightfall preparations -> practical aspect. If you have time today, start up Guild Wars with the -image switch (temporarilly edit your GW desktop shortcut, where you change the GW.exe to GW.exe -image) and run it. I need to download, like, 11000+ files

I've got to say, I'm enjoying Nightfall a lot. Especially since I considered not buying it. Taking it slow this time through, which is what I said about Factions... but I'm actually going to finish NF.

I was thinking the same thing, that I'd skip this chapter, but I'm very glad I bought it. Too bad I'm too busy to play these days, but having a second job has squashed my free time.

So far I am enjoying Nightfall quite a bit. Seems much more interesting than Factions, but both chapters are interesting from the "hey look new content" aspect.
Fortunately or unfortunately, the heroes make it so that you really can party alone, without other human players. That has definite drawbacks, as Factions almost required that you team up with others to get through some of the difficult missions. For me, I haven't partied with another human player since I started playing NF.
I find NF also overwhelming by the choices. Now you need to choose the story line to follow. Now in addition to those normal attribute increasing runes, there are new runes, as well as all those inscriptions. Now you need to maintain all your heroes, with inscriptions, better weapons, nicer armour (if you are into fashion), with runes, and with skills. It is a bit much, and I have long ago given up on fine tuning and fully equipping every hero. But its nice with these extra choices in the game.
And with now a total of 10 character slots, with currently 7 of them used for PvE, there is no way I will be able to get more than a few of my characters around the entire 3-chapter world.

Thought id post something I agree that maintaining heros with "good stuff" is hard, its even harder when you have 6 lvl 20's like me, and whats worse is the fact they practically killed ALL farming now, even shards are cheap now so bp'ing FoW is less of a money maker. So how the hell do we maintain all our heroes with "good stuff" if they practically killed off every single form of farming and making a few bucks, where do they think we are going to make all this money from?! lol And why there aint a new statue opened up for NF is a BIIIIG letdown how about opening up Melandrus and calling it "Forest of Woe" lol and enemies drop gems needed for NF armour! just a thought. And i also agree ppl are spending to much time with there heros and dont quest togther, kinda boring if you ask me not that i need any help, just that its more fun after all it is a MMORPG On the back of Nightfalls box it should state "The worlds first online single player game" lol, anyway enough complaining wheres my bow!

I usually do most of my playing with a team of 2 humans, 6 heroes. That's why I'm open to helping anyone out, even if I'm not very far into the mainland. It adds to the experience.

Heh heh, ok, I hit the wall last night. Can't remember the name of the mission, but it seems to be one that would be very difficult to do with only henchies and heroes. The one where you have to protect the Altar of Lyssa while closing down three other nearby rifts.
I will be asking for help with this one. But I think it could be done easilly with two humans, one to keep an eye on the Altar and the other to take over the rifts.
By the way, what happens when you have 8 humans in a party so no room for Heroes, and you come to one of these missions or quests that requires that a particular Hero be present? Do you have to kick a human to make room for said Hero?

The one where you have to protect the Altar of Lyssa while closing down three other nearby rifts. Yes, tricky one! I had to hench it 5 timesw before I got Masters on that one. Having Olias as MM, and myself as MM support curser helped a lot. Two players can easily do it I think, by your self it takes some time before you get the idea about what target to takeout first. I would be happy to help you but will not be able to play until Friday evening. To maintain 10 characters and 100(!) heros is something I have put on the shelf pretty long ago. Regards, Lago Mortis

The one where you have to protect the Altar of Lyssa while closing down three other nearby rifts. Spoiler alert, tips on mission. The mission is Grand Court of Sebelkeh. It requires Tahlkora as hero Its doable with heroes/hench. But with another player or two it will get much easier I think. The skill 'Lightbringers Gaze' does wonders here. (You can pick up the skill at the Chantry of Secrets after reaching lightbringer level 2). So several players with the skill can really blast through the margonites You can probably do it with many combo's of heroes and hench, but this is what I used: Giulia (illusion, inept clumsi, lightbringers gaze !!) Tahlkora (prot) Margrid (interrupt) Melonni (damage output) Cyn (damage damage damage) Herta (damage damage wards) Sogolon (heal support) Mhenlo (heal) For me it went like this: Its a canthan-like-push-forward-rush-mission. As soon as I left the circle, timer started. Went to center, opponents came in from three sides. I kept in center but avoided to completely capture the Altar. Killed all incoming, and without complete capturing the Altar went toward the first rift. Killed opponents at first rift and destroyed it. Went for opponents at second rift, Blasphemy turned up, but I ignored him. He started capturing the Altar, but the progress is slow. I could destroy the second rift before the Blasphemy captured the altar. After killing Blasphemy I took out the Unbound Energies and went for the opponents at the third rift and destroyed it. Blasphemy reappeared at Altar. Killed it to end mission. Took me 3 runs to do it in < 6 mins and get masters. If you need a hand gimme a yell. I'm only lightbringer (3). But if you could get help from some of the guilds (4) and (5) it would make things easier.

Have I said.....ahhhh, never mind. Her avatar says it all anyway!! You can't get enough of me, can you Hadus? Well, here you go . . . What about more female mesmers . . . Laekker Lulu, Giulia, Tijgertje Tijger and Mistress Kara Rahl starting a party in Yak's Bend . . . *Wondering if Hadus has enough for now. I wont post the 3 bathing female rits, it will probably be too much for poor Hadus*

* After being in a coma for more than 2 months....the weak-legged ranger picks himself out of the pool of drool and slowly begins to lift his head. As his damp hair drips and a few of the embedded pebbles drop back to earth...Hadus begins to speak...."Whaaaa happen?" * Glancing back at the images above his eyes glaze over once again. He makes a futile attempt to speak while raising his finger to point at thin air. With only one arm supporting his weight he topples forward and his head hits hard on the pavement again!! Out for the count, it's anyones guess how long the smile on his face will remain.

Man, those pics Gigs posted make me even begin to fall hopefully in love (or is it lust) with a GW character! Geez I need a life!
As a side note, I started to play my Mesmer Lækker Lulu again to take her through Nightfall (giving up on elementalist Kala for the time being since I hate fire nuking anyway). I feel that Mesmers have been a bit forgotten in Nightfall. Lulu only has one dress still, so Hadus keep your eyes open, maybe it wears out or gets torn and falls off ;D

I feel that Mesmers have been a bit forgotten in Nightfall. I took my new mesmer out around Istan yesterday for my day off from my Guild Wars boycott and has a blast. It's such a fun class to play I'm considering making him a joint main with Towel. I wanted to get to Consulate Docks but when I got to Blacktide Den at 5AM I decided I wasn't going to make it and better give up for another month or so.
