Hmmmm, I'm not sure yet because in the Netherlands the revered holy man Sinterklaas is visiting these weeks to celebrate his birthday at December 5th. Many people, including me, need to create surprise gifts and write poems to help the Old Man at least during the weekend before. I'll see, it is tempting . . . . .

Don't let Guild Wars / virtual peer pressure take you away from Christmas Ano. ...but come if you have time, we need to make up for the alliance attempt!

Oooooh Towel, I can't let this go without a correction. I was referring to Sinterklaas and not to Santa Claus, who tends to visit during Xmas. Sinterklaas resides in Spain during practically the whole year as the Bishop of Mira. He has is BDay on December 5th which he by tradition celebrates in The Netherlands (and partly in Belgium). In order to do that properly he arrives by Steam Boat about 3 weeks before the big Day, welcomed by many nervous Children who sing for him and his many Dark Peter aids. He always brings his white stallion horse (named Amerigo) with him and who safely takes him on the roofs where he and his Black Peters deliver gifts into the shoes of the children by lowering them through the chimneys. He leaves our country on December 6th to return to Spain and that is the sign for Santa Claus to invade our country with all his merchandising, etc. It really is a shame that of late he can't seem to wait till Sinterklaas has left before putting all his Christmas stuff in the shops. The old and friendly Bishop certainly deserves more respect having visited The Netherlands for hundreds of years before anyone here had even heard of Santa Claus. Glad I have that set straight now, especially because I myself have been chosen to help the real Sinterklaas on December 5th by visiting a local school dressed up as Himself to make sure the children get there gifts and candy from my Black Peter helpers. It is so much fun to do that an rewarding too! OK, if I feel I have the time I will be there, because the Alliance try at The Deep in HM did not bring us further than 6 times entering the first rooms always followed by resigning because somebody did something wrong; cost us almost 1.5 hours; really annoying . . . . . . . If I can't make it I wish all a fun and safe trip! Anomander

Thanks for the correction! Sinterklaas seems like he shares quite a lot in common with Father Christmas. The point still stands though - would you want to miss any of them because you were in the Deep? I'm impressed in your efforts to help out the real Sinterklaas too. I think I've been good enough this year for him to be nice to me. What was this topic about again? Oh yes, I also plan to come to the Deep trip.

Ano ,as a mather of fact Santa Klaus , Sinterklaas , Saint Nikolas , All that names are for one and the same holy person. It is saint Nikolas bishop of Mira. Now his relics are in the cathedral in Italian town Bari .San Nikola DI Bari. His day is 6th of December and it is not his Birthday ,but the day of his death - this way we celebrate the saints - at the day when they meet God , usually.

Ack. My brother-in-law asked me to help work on his house Saturday, so there's no guarantee I'll be around by 2pm here. (EST, GMT-5) If I'm online or say otherwise, I'll go, but right now it's looking pretty iffy.

Looks like things on this thread are going to see some fireworks!!! So let's just stand by our beliefs and keep this thread focused on the point at hand which is the Deep run on Saturday. I would love to go... I just need to finish a job I'm working on. So, if I get it done in time I'll go... [glow=pink,5,300]Angel of the Scouts........... [/glow]

Yes - speak of the Deep and only the Deep.
One point (from my run with the alliance last time) - we really need to have more then a single monk. At the start, you have to split and each split really needs to have a monk along (imo) - so if folks with monks that can make it to Cavalon... can make sure they have made it to Cavalon, well that would be great.
I'm formally *not* bringing my monk. Being greedy since the Beer Brawler has already Deepd and I want to Deep my ranger.
