by an odd twist of fate I got my Christmas present early this year. Samsung 226BW with not the nerfed panel. Like Pale said the colors are not the same as a CRT. As far as I can tell they are just a little less bright. I don't think the difference between 16.9, 16.7, and 16.2 would have mattered one bit to me. Zalis has a viewsonic and all of theirs are 16.2 and I think his looks great and so does this one. Oddly enough half of my games that were set on 1024x768 before the monitor just scaled and I didn't get the "non-native" blur so perhaps newer monitors are fixing that junk too or there just wasn't any fine text for me to notice it. If my pictures look funny to you thats purely because I suck at taking pictures and has nothing to do with the monitor. I give this monitor a thumbs up so far.

Nice, Radicc. You guys are making me want a new monitor... I said I'd post the details of the different monitor types, but Wikipedia can explain it much better than I ever could. ;D en.wikipedia.org/wiki/TFT_LCDBasically you're looking at: Twisted nematic + film: popular, fast, and cheap, but less colours and poorer viewing angles. In-plane Switching: Too expensive to consider. MVA/PVA - Full colour range, better viewing angles, but more expensive, and you need to check the input lag because it can be slower.

Grats on the new display Rad! You have been faster than me... I'm still with cash in hand and wanting to get some free time to get one from the store. I have stopped on the same model as your. So thanks for the preview Enjoy the 22"

Mine is my a Christmas present from my parents so I still have cash in hand too, well sort of. If I had any cash to begin with.
I was quite surprised. I guess my sisters moving to opposites sides of the country has prompted them to try to buy me into staying some place near by or something. ;D Either way its better than the clothes I'd never wear.

I hope you don't mind me asking Rad: You never wear clothes? Sounds very impractical to me.
Me Mazz (again)

Why would I ever want to wear clothes?
Actually I meant the big ugly itchy sweaters and crap that family members tend to buy for some reason. or the we bought this junk because it was on clearance wardrobe. Seriously if you want to get me something and don't know what to buy just hand me a big ol' fist full of cash, its way better than those stupid gift cards.
